Yeti’s on Fat Bikes Expected at Winter Festival in Ogden, Utah
Ogden, Utah (January XX, 2017) – The second annual Wasatch Yeti Bash presented by America First Credit Union will be held at the Ogden City Amphitheater on February 3 in conjunction with the First Friday Art Stroll. The bash will take place from 4-8 p.m. and includes a Winter Arts Market by Nurture the Creative Mind, a community bike ride by the The GOAL Foundation, fat bike demo’s provided by Borealis and local bike shops, yeti yoga by AndShesDopeToo, yeti sightings, a beer wagon by The Standard-Examiner, live entertainment by DJ Battleship and The Movement Dance Company, s’mores by Boman Kemp and the Ogden Fire Department, and costumed fun for all ages.
“We are thrilled to welcome back the Wasatch Yeti Bash for a second year” said Sydnie Furton, Marketing and PR manager at Visit Ogden. “The community and yetis visiting the area last year had so much fun riding bikes, buying art and doing yoga on the street that we had to bring the event back again this winter. I am anticipating to see a lot more yetis and other mythical creatures joining in the festivities this year.”
The bash is free to all attendees and will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the opening of the Winter Arts Market. Off-beat artists and snow sports vendors will be hosting family friendly interactive booths and exhibits. DJ Battleship will keep the vibes groovy, there will be live entertainment and yeti sightings throughout downtown Ogden. At 5:00 p.m. yetis and attendees can participate in a community bike ride and demo fat bikes. At 5:30 p.m. attendees even have a chance to join yetis on the street during a winter yoga session with AndShesDopeToo.
“Yetis are very active creatures” stated Furton. “They have been spotted riding fat bikes, doing yoga on the street, painting art and they sure do love craft beer.”
Following the Yeti Bash, there will be a Pub Crawl on Historic 25th Street. Yetis will be taking over the art galleries, bars and restaurants so keep your eye out for these snow-loving beasts. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite mythical creature.
The free event is open to the community and is being held in conjunction with the First Friday Art Stroll and the Sweaty Yeti Fat Bike Race and Yeti Run at Wolf Creek Resort on February 4th. A full schedule of events can be found at www.yetibash.com.
