Shop Small in Ogden Valley
Between “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday,” you’ll find “Shop Small Saturday.”
It’s a great way to get to know local business owners, take advantage of some great deals, and find some truly unique holiday gifts. Whether you’re an Ogden-area resident or visiting family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday, we’ve highlighted some of the businesses and deals in Ogden Valley that you won’t want to miss on Shop Small Saturday…or ANY day.
Lift Tickets
Nordic Valley, Snowbasin, and Powder Mountain day passes make excellent gifts. Even skiers and snowboarders who have season passes to one of the resorts love to take advantage of the occasional day at other nearby mountains.
Simply Eden
This boutique located in Eden Center specializes in goat-milk soaps and other bath and body products. They will be open during regular hours, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., both Friday and Saturday and doing giveaways throughout both days. Take advantage of free shipping both from the shop and through their online store during Thanksgiving weekend.
New World Distillery
This award-winning artisan distillery crafts some of the best spirits you’ll find anywhere. Due to Utah liquor laws, discounts aren’t an option for Shop Small Saturday. However, you’ll find unique gifts like flasks, tumblers, glasses, apparel, and hard-to-find bitters and other mixers. Additionally, they’ll gift wrap your purchase. Good luck finding that level of service at the State Liquor Store!
Diamond Peak Mountain Sports
Diamond Peak is Ogden Valley’s premier stop for all things ski, snowboard, and cycle. They’ll have plenty of deals on Shop Small Saturday including free youth goggles with the purchase of any 2020 model of youth ski/snowboard jacket. Select kids gloves are buy-one-get-half-off. Free beanie with any winter jacket purchase over $200. And take advantage of clearance pricing on all remaining winter clothing, snow boots, gloves, and beanies from last season. With ski season upon us, it might be easy to overlook all of the great bikes and cycling gear and apparel upstairs, but it’s the perfect time for Santa to find that new e-bike to put under the tree.
Compass Rose Lodge & Halo Observatory
Looking for a truly one-of-a-kind gift for that hard-to-shop-for loved one? Book a Starwalk tour at the Huntsville Astronomical & Lunar Observatory (HALO). Tours are $20 for adults and $15 for kids. Better yet, book an overnight stay at the Compass Rose Lodge, and get the Starwalk tour at 50% off. The HALO’s 16-inch telescope lets you gaze at distant galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae. If you can’t stop in on Shop Small Saturday, you can call them at 385-279-4460 for more information and reservations.
