Ogden's O'Luck
Exploring St. Patrick's Day Magic in the Heart of Utah
The charm of St. Patrick's Day extends well beyond the Irish community, drawing people from all walks of life to join in the festivities right here in Ogden.
So, put on your best green outfits, enjoy a green beer and explore the St. Patrick’s Day beer crawl, Celtic food and festive art classes. Though originating in Ireland as a religious feast day or often associated with leprechauns, shamrocks, and a sea of green, the Irish spirit has crossed borders and taken on a vibrant life of its own.
Although we don’t dye the Ogden River green, like the Chicago River, you can still expect just as much liveliness.
This year, Ogden’s St. Patrick’s Day activities include a 2-day beer crawl and the chance to etch your own glass beer mug.
Beer Crawl
St. Patrick's Day is a day to embrace diversity, share laughter, and participate, whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned veteran of the beer crawl. If you're new to a beer crawl, it's an adventure where you and hundreds of others explore local bars and pubs. Some Ogden bars in the Crawl with Us itinerary include Harp and Hound, The L.A.B. and Kokomo Club. These spots typically feature special St. Patrick's Day menus with a variety of beers, from traditional pours to unique craft concoctions with an Irish flair. You might even find some corned beef and cabbage on your crawl.
Burlesque
"Get Lucky" is a 21+ event that Copper Nickel Burlesque is hosting, full of delicious food and drinks, contests and prizes, a DJ, dancing, and an amazing Irish-themed burlesque variety show. Be sure to show up wearing your best gold and green.
Arts & Crafts
If a beer crawl isn't your preference, or for a pre-crawl activity, visit the Local Artisan Collective on the 16th for a glass beer mug or shot glass etching class hosted by community members who inspire us daily.
The store boasts an extensive collection of unique products from over 50 local artists. Alongside this, there is dedicated classroom space where these artists offer instructive classes for adults and children. From glass blowing and pottery to silversmithing, leatherworking, lettering, painting, sewing, bath bomb making, kids camps, and beyond, the store provides a diverse array of workshops. The Local Artisan Collective offers a distinctive and exclusive experience only found in Ogden.
Food
For those who are feeling more than peckish, try stopping by The Angry Goat for their Irish burger or hit up Harp and Hound for an array of amazing vegan options. Other great choices for the month of March include Lucky Slice, and Slackwater. All in the heart of downtown Ogden.
Travel Responsibly
Don’t forget to take advantage of the free Ogden downtown trolley and OGX for transportation when possible. As always, use a rideshare app or a trusted designated driver to get home safely if you plan on celebrating all night.
So, whether you're Irish by heritage or simply Irish at heart, don your greenest attire, join the festivities, and raise a glass to the spirit of St. Patrick's Day in Ogden.
